AAC & Complex Access
Every child has a voice. We find the way in.
For children who cannot rely on speech alone, communication may depend on finding an access method that is reliable, efficient, and physically sustainable. Aloud evaluates both the communication system and how the child will access it.
Sammi works across major AAC platforms and manufacturers and remains vendor-neutral—recommending the device, vocabulary system, and access method that best fit the child rather than one preferred brand.
Complex access may include:
Direct touch and adapted touch
Eye gaze
Single- and dual-switch scanning
Head tracking and head mouse
Wearable EMG and NeuroNode access
Partner-assisted scanning
Keyguards and grids
Low-tech and light-tech communication
Multimodal and hybrid access
AAC, END TO END
Getting a device is the beginning, not the finish line.
Aloud supports the full AAC journey—from evaluation and feature matching to implementation, customization, caregiver coaching, school collaboration, and ongoing review as the child’s needs and technology change.
Evaluation and feature matching
In-home assessment, caregiver interview, access-method trials, and hands-on comparison of devices, apps, vocabulary systems, and physical access options.
Implementation therapy
Weekly or intensive therapy focused on building functional language, reliable access, and confident communication within everyday routines.
Programming and customization
Vocabulary, page layout, access settings, and device organization are adjusted around the child’s current abilities, priorities, and daily life.
Caregiver, school, and team training
Practical coaching helps family members, aides, therapists, and educators model and support the system consistently across environments.
The goal is not simply a device. It is communication that works.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALTIES
Focused support for recovery, speech, and feeding.
Each service begins with an individualized understanding of the child’s abilities, environment, medical or developmental history, and goals. Parent and caregiver coaching is included throughout care.

CARE THAT FITS
Weekly, intensive, or somewhere in between.
Not every child benefits from the same schedule. Aloud may recommend ongoing weekly therapy, a focused intensive block, or a hybrid plan based on the child’s goals, stage of recovery, family schedule, and response to treatment.
MODEL 01
Weekly therapy
Consistent sessions designed to build skills over time, support carryover, and adjust treatment as the child progresses.
MODEL 02
Intensive treatment blocks
Higher-frequency therapy delivered over a defined period and organized around a specific goal, such as AAC implementation, post-injury recovery, motor-speech progress, or feeding progression.
MODEL 03
Hybrid care
A combination of intensive and weekly treatment that allows families to build momentum, consolidate skills, and adjust frequency as needs change.
Caregiver coaching and practical home support are built into every model.
The first step is a conversation.
Tell us about your child and the support you are looking for. Aloud will follow up to discuss whether the practice may be the right fit.
Please avoid including detailed medical information in your initial inquiry.
HOW IT BEGINS
A clear path from first conversation to care.
STEP 01
Request a consultation
Share what is happening, what has already been tried, and what kind of support you are looking for.
STEP 02
Complete an evaluation
Sammi assesses the child’s current abilities, needs, environment, history, and goals using standardized tools, clinical observation, and functional assessment.
STEP 03
Review the care plan
The family receives recommendations, proposed goals, suggested frequency, and a clear explanation of the next steps.
STEP 04
Begin therapy
Treatment is delivered through in-home visits or telehealth when appropriate, with caregiver coaching and progress review built into care.
